wedding stationery timelines

Your wedding stationery is an incredibly important part of your journey to the aisle.  It tells your guests who is getting married, when and where and all the little important details to help convey the uniqueness of your big day and exactly what you’d like them to know to help celebrate you!

one year to six months: save the dates

Destination weddings should adhere closer to the one year mark, while save the dates should be more around the six month mark.

six months: choose your invitations

The invitation process can take up to 2 months, longer if you are ordering custom invites. Starting this process earlier usually is better.

six to eight weeks: send out your invitations

six to eight weeks: Order
day-of stationery

These include menus, programs, signage, table cars, place cards, etc.

three weeks out: rsvp response deadline

Follow up with guests who have not yet sent out their responses in this time. This will help your venue finalize the final guest count and will help know how to arrange your seating.

six weeks after the wedding: send out thank you cards

This is optional, but presents a nice touch!
